Typical situations

When DevOps consulting pays off

Delivering software quickly, reliably and in high quality is a competitive factor. Difficulties usually arise at the transitions between requirements, development, testing, release and operations.

Long lead times

Coordination, waiting times and manual steps delay every release.

Lack of transparency

The status of requirements, tests and releases cannot be traced end to end.

Limited automation

Recurring tests and deployments still run by hand, and errors are found late.

The toolchain is up for decision

Atlassian Data Center ends in 2029 and the tools have grown over the years. You are looking for a sustainable target picture.

Our consulting approach

Five phases to better software delivery

We start with your business goals and the actual situation. We do not assume any particular platform.

01

Analyse

We look at the flow from requirement to delivery: processes, roles, toolchain, test strategy and key figures.

02

Design

Together we develop a target picture with end-to-end processes as well as quality and release criteria.

03

Prioritise

Measures are assessed by benefit, risk and effort. The result is a roadmap with verifiable goals.

04

Implement

We support test management, test automation, integration and release processes, ideally starting with a pilot area.

05

Measure and improve

Target values are compared with the starting point, for example using the DORA metrics.

Results

What you get from the consulting

Depending on your situation, you receive tangible results on which you can base confident decisions.

Baseline assessment

A structured analysis of the main bottlenecks, causes and potential.

Target model

Agreed processes and roles as well as quality and release criteria for development, testing and operations.

Roadmap of measures

Prioritised, with responsibilities, dependencies and verifiable goals.

Test strategy

Risk-based, with a clear assessment of what can sensibly be automated.

Toolchain assessment

How your tools work together, where information gets lost and which integration adds value.

Key figures

Clearly defined metrics for speed, quality and stability, as a basis for further improvement.

Our principles

How we advise

The answer does not lie in new technology alone. What matters is the interplay of processes, people, methods, data and tools.

Set business goals

The starting point is your goals, for example shorter delivery times, higher quality, lower risks or better predictability.

Processes before tools

We find the causes of delays and media breaks before technical measures are decided.

Build on what exists

Existing systems, skills and investments are taken into account. A platform switch is not necessarily required.

Step by step

Prioritised measures are implemented, reviewed and adjusted where necessary.

Measurable results

Key figures serve to improve the system as a whole, not to assess individual employees.

Vendor-neutral

We are partners of Atlassian and OpenText. Even so, our recommendation is based solely on your requirements.

You receive a proposal for approach and effort that fits the complexity of your environment.

04

Consulting

We work closely with business, development, testing and operations and document the results transparently.

05

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about DevOps consulting

Is your advice vendor-neutral?

Yes. We look at existing tools independently of the vendor and do not assume any particular platform. As partners of Atlassian and OpenText, we know both worlds from practice.

Do we have to change our tools?

No. Often the bigger lever lies in processes, handovers and automation. A switch is only considered where it clearly adds value.

What does the end of Atlassian Data Center mean?

From 28 March 2029 there will be no more updates or support. We help you assess the options: Atlassian Cloud, another platform or a hybrid approach. Read more in our article on the end of Data Center.

Which key figures do you use?

Depending on the situation, for example lead times, deployment frequency, failure rates and recovery times, for instance based on the DORA metrics. Target values are agreed individually.

What does DevOps consulting cost?

That depends on the scope. After the free initial consultation, you receive a proposal that fits your environment. We do not offer fixed packages.

Do you also handle the implementation?

Yes, on request, from test management and test automation to integration. But you can just as well implement the results with your own team.
